NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND THERE'S a restaurant and bar called the Black Pearl in Newport, Rhode Island. I love to sit there in the winter, when the snow's thick on the ground, with my wife Dianne, a fish platter, and a brandy, and watch the fog -thicker than sin - roll in off Rhode Island Sound.
